Review

Next up on Senso Sounds is Carbon aka Riewert Petersen with a storming two-tracker. In keeping with the aesthetic on Oliver Huntemann's label, the title track centres on a menacing, pumping bass and a driving rhythm. Carbon weaves in epic rave riffs and a mysterious vocal narrative that offers 'the rhythm' as an alternative to dystopian society. "Makkuro Kurosuke" is an ebm-influenced track. Resounding to a throbbing bass and steely drums, it's more linear than "All You Need", but it will still have maximum impact thanks to its rolling snares and powerful low end. Both tracks make for another killer Senso release.
