Review

Connor Wall may be a new name in techno, but his star shines brightly on Human Obsolete. The title track is a case in point. Focused on a driving groove, the doubled-up claps and sonic bleeps are redolent of vintage Sleeparchive. There's a similar dynamic at play on "The Train Track", where breathy tones are fused with insistent bleeps - this time supported by a more dubby groove. "Disturbed" sees Wall go deeper. The combination of belching sub-bass and dreamy textures make for a tripped-out but still dancefloor-friendly workout. Last but not least is "Tidal Locking", a driving club track powered by steely percussion.
