UK house-broken beat star Cooly G has been off our radars for our while, but here she is again on Hyperdub, home to her productions since day one. She returns with five floor shakers but the opener, "Trippin B", cannot be beaten purely on the basis of the absolutely killer bassline that is carries - potentially this week's pick from us. However, "Booboo", although not as instantly alluring, is a fine house banger with plenty of percussive trickery and oddball vocal samples, while the flip is dominated by the flangery synths of "Flange City", "Waybay's" tropical groove, and the breaks and twists of "Horrors In The Dance". Aside from "Love Dub", this might well be one of her finest moments
