Ben J Worrall continues to dazzle as Crackazat, frequently serving up musically rich and expansive club cuts that showcase his dexterity as a multi-instrumentalist as well as his well-honed dancefloor instincts. Here he delivers his fourth outing on Dam Swindle's Heist Recordings, a follow-up of sorts to his excellent 2023 mini-album, 'Senses'. Title track 'In The Sky' is a magnificent chunk of constantly building musical positivity where hands-aloft keyboard riffs, soulful vocal snippets and bold synth-string stabs rise above bouncy, jazz-flecked deep house beats and a deep, booming sub-bass motif. 'Burnin' is a more nostalgic (but no less bass-heavy) slab of garage-house-meets-muscular piano house fusion, while 'Dark' is a deeper, warmer and woozier deep house shuffler marked out by genuinely sizable sub-bass and an even more prominent jazz influence.Get new release alerts
