Cri du Coeur branches out with this fine three-track EP on Disturb, one of Portugal's leading techno imprints. The title track is led by steely percussion and a throbbing bass, with these elements underpinning whooshing, hypnotic synths. "Magnitude" sees the Arkham Audio owner go deeper. Once again, the focus is on a throbbing bass, but on this occasion, he deploys tough drums to underpin swirling pads. "Hypocentre" marks a shift in style; alternating between broken beats and straight kicks, it retains the mysterious aesthetic that pervades the rest of the release. If you're looking for high impact but atmospheric techno, then head for Epicentre.
