Maceo Plex's label deserves kudos for digging deep into techno's heritage for this split release. D-Knox has been releasing music since the mid-90s on labels like Sect, Black Nation and his own Sonic Mind, and "Psalm 83:13", his contribution to Under The Radar, captures the spirit of Detroit techno. Based on an uptempo rhythm and tough kicks, it features mysterious Motor City pads and a ghostly vocal. Knox is not the only techno luminary here: Mike Parker provides a remix of DJ Who's "Give A Little More", with the veteran US artist adding layer upon layer of acid to the original. Representing the new school are Karius & Baktus with "Wurzelbehnadlung", a
grainy, gritty dub techno affair.
