Following on from his Confidence album and subsequent remix release, Daniel Stefanik delivers fresh material for Cocoon. Audibly fuelled by acid house, the German producer has nonetheless put his own spin on that style. On "Twilight Zone", the 303s are as niggling as an under-the-skin itch. Combined with clicky beats and rattling percussion, it makes for an unusual take on the 303 sound. The title track is in a similar vein; while the acid element is less audible this time, the spacey filters, hissing hi hats and tick tock percussion combine for a highly distinctive minimal techno track. No wonder Sven Vath's label can't get enough of Stefanik.
