With just a few releases under its belt, Dan Snaith's Jiaolong imprint is still defining itself but this concise one-tracker should go some way to setting the boundaries. The rhythm comes on in a hurry, letting a multitude of layers fuss over each other without one seeking supremacy, while warm lashings of bass, arpeggiated and otherwise, gives the fluttering percussion its focus. As you would expect with the man like Caribou, he builds the track to a dramatic peak with the greatest of poise through carefully orchestrated melodics. While the build up may not quite break the cloud line, it makes it smoother on the way down.
What is Album Only?
