Spectrum Spools certainly know how to put together a reissue, and they've done it again with this latest special package from the sensational David Borden. For those who don't know, Borden is one of the three founding members of Mother Mallard's Portable Masterpiece Company, a trio who were making far-out, brain-twisting ambient and experimental sounds way back in 1968 with the assistance of none other that Sir Robert Moog. Borden, however, released a string of solo LP's including Music For Amplified Keyboard Instruments, a gorgeous four-tracker originally released in 1981. It's a mesmerising journey across nebulous arpeggios, hypnotic sequences and containing an oddly ancient tone to its melodies
