Deca aka Federico De Caroli) is a composer and musician who for over 30 years was a protagonist of the Italian electronic and experimental scene, also approaching other fields such as theatre, multimedia and television. Originally influenced by post punk acts like Joy Division, The Cure and Killing Joke he then studied the dynamics of synthetic sound. In 1985, he began his solo productions, embarking on a career based in linear sequencer plots and minimal compositions that referred to legends in electronic composition such as Jean-Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk, and Vangelis and also the cosmic music of Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze. The MASS LP was produced in 1987 with a Roland synthesizer and only distributed on cassette in limited edition. A more rhythmic album than his other works of the time, it ranks as the third in his discography and is a dark and minimalist electro-wave album of states of distressed mood.
