Hot off a sweet set of footwork touting podcasts for the likes of Dekmantel and Resident Advisor, DJ Earl's Bass + Funk & Soul album lands with a boom! His first official LP release since his 2016 LP Open Your Eyes for Tek Life, Bass + Funk & Soul finds itself on Moveltraxx outta London following hits from Traxman and Paul Johnson. A record that will arguably go down as one of, if not, the best (if only freshest) footwork LP fo the year; it comes through the heaviness of tracks like "Ya Bish" to the future footfunk of "Wrk Dat Body". These find a place next to the slow and woozy vocals made twice and trippy by peaking bends of synth in "Get Smoked", while more wild and unique samples in tracks like "Baaaaaa" and "Off They Feet" match with other pitch shifting effects in "Right Dere". Dope tumbling 808 drums and percussion in "Whaaam" and more radically distorted pianos done elemental footwork style in "STL Breathin".
What is Album Only?
