The first DJ Food album in 11 years, and a welcome return to Ninja Tune institution Strictly Kev on this freaked and brilliant album. Rough and deliberately scattershot, it aims to create the sonics of psychedelic rock but using samples - a method that pays off gloriously on tracks like "All Covered In Darkness (Part 1)" and "The Illectrik Hoax" - and with the trademark use of obscure spoken-word samples, there's also a pseudo-narrative thread that runs throughout the twelve tracks. A rare guest spot from The The's Matt Johnson sees the singer on fine form on the double-bass driven "Giant", while other vocal contributors include JG Thirlwell, Natural Self and 2econd Class Citizen.
