Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger's recent Vinyl TV show depicted the birth of New York black party culture with the mighty Kool Herc at the helm. Here Dr Packer riffs off that same imagery too, even if his edits are more in the disco vein than that of Herc's hard funk breaks. There are a whopping six edits to wrap your ears around here, highlights include sensuous 70s boogie, complete with electro bassline, of "Disco Lovin", the protracted hiNRG New Order loops of "Monday Blues" and the shimmering, dry ice soul of "Chocolate Boogie". Fun music for fun times!
