Dustin Zahn has been releasing high-quality, hard-edged techno over the past 15 years, but 2018 saw him continue to rise in prominence. After a release on Rekids, comes this fine EP on his own label. The title track is reminiscent of Luke Slater's wild remix of Joey Beltram's "Forklift", the sirens rising and rising through Zahn's heavy rhythms. The 'Invasion' remix offers up a more streamlined, linear take on the original, while on the 'Alt' version, a heavier approach prevails. The drums are more dense and pounding, and provide a backdrop for churning, filtered chord builds. Finally, on "Clear Skies", Zahn drops the intensity levels again to offer up a rickety, rolling groove.
