Hopefully Spanish producer De La Calle's catalogue is never the subject of a Robin Thicke-style action because it contains so many familiar-sounding samples. This release on Swiss label Mental Groove is a case in point: "Mental Jazz" starts off with hissing percussion and dubbed out chords, while a muffled, indistinct man witters on in the background. However, it's the melancholic trumpet sample that takes over the track midway through that will make his listeners ponder where they have heard it before. Similarly, "Vasudevas Wonderland" is based on a croaky, dubby track, but it's the eerie, Drexciyan synths that will arouse curiosity about whom De La Calle's compositions are inspired.
