El-B and his supernatural crewdem, show us just how well they understand the UK bass scene. El-B is a solid contributor to the foundations of dubstep, and here in 'Celly' we can hear the dark, ominous wobble we associate with the early days of the sound, the 2 step drums and ragga vocal bring a party element to an otherwise somber track. Collaborating with Vandal for 'Hostile' we hear a fat, juicy sub, covered in layers of reverb and echo while sweeping atmospherics give us the uncomfortable feeling of being followed. Blaze's 'QD1' is all about the bass, short blobs of deep sound make up the main body of the track, with sharp drum to slice through the soundscape. 'We See You' sees El-B come with our favourite track of the EP, shuffling 2 step is decorated with eerie chords, drippy hollow sound effects and a dark bouncy low end.
