Harvey 'El Choop' Jones returns to Echocord after Insane Sends. Like that 2021 release and the rest of his catalogue, Closing Motif is inspired by classic techno. In keeping with the Echocord style, "Faith" is a chord-heavy dub track. On the title track, Jones also chooses an esoteric approach. On this occasion however, it revolves around a more dance floor friendly, steely rhythm, which acts as the basis for billowing, dreamy synths. The label has also chosen two respected producers to reshape El Choop's work. Deadbeat turns "Faith" into a downtempo, hollowed out dubby affair. Luke Hess' take on "Closing Motif" is similarly introspective, but with an added layer of melancholy, rainy synths.Get new release alerts
