'The Brazilian Hipster' was first released as a single in 2004, with Jalapeno regulars Skeewiff's remix issued on a promo-only 12-inch the following year, and now here's another chance to acquire both versions digitally. The original's a midtempo, brass-toting Latino funk jam featuring some very fine Hammond work and subtle, lounge-y chanted vox, but it's Skeewiff's refix that's surely the star, opening with the vocal and bringing the Hammond further to the fore, augmented by a very familiar-sounding late 70s disco/jazz-funk riff. It's one for the hepcats rather than the hipsters, perhaps, but its party-starting chops are as assured as ever.
