Review

Conform was one of the most important labels during the late 90s and early 2000s and was re-launched in 2020 after a 15-year hiatus. To bring its sound to a new audience, imprint owner Gaetano Parisio aka Gaetek now delivers a new six-track release. Steeped in the Conform legacy, each track draws on the looped aesthetic, albeit with different outcomes. "Thetis" sees Parisio merge surging chords with a rolling, percussive groove, while on "Nysa", he ventures deeper, deploying insistent stabs over a driving rhythm. "Lumen" is more stripped back, as Parisio draws on a dubby aesthetic, while the percussive "Themis" resounds to dramatic filters and razor-sharp percussion.
