Despite their lengthy service, Hardway Brothers (the long-term recording project of A Love From Outer Space co-founder Sean Johnston) has not released many original productions - making this surprise outing on Matt 'Radio Slave' Edwards' REKIDS imprint a must-check. Predictably, Johnson and guest vocalist Beth Cassidy have delivered the goods, serving up a quirky but memorable vocal house workout in which attractive piano riffs and alien-sounding electronics wrap around a sturdy beat and dark, foreboding bassline. Erol Alkan and Richard Norris don the Beyond The Wizard's Sleeve alias to drop a superb remix that reminded us a little of their classic rework of Franz Ferdinand, while the Coral Way Dub Mix is a moody, low-slung, mind-mangling house treat.Get new release alerts
