Hollen is the studio project of Aniello Federico, who has released on Umek's 1605 Music Therapy label and Monika Kruse's Terminal M. Having such labels prominent among his catalogue may make Hollen seem like an unusual fit with Glasgow Underground, but the Italian producer has already released on Kevin McKay's label. It's not hard to hear why it is putting out "Jungle Vibe". Tough drums and doubled-up claps underpin tribal chants as Federico delivers a relentless rhythm. It has echoes of the house label's harder releases as well as bearing the influence of mid-90s New York labels like Tribal - as McKay himself might say, this is "techno music for house-heads".
