It sounds like Stil Vor Talent have a big hit on their hands. In its original format, Dogs is dominated by a reflective piano line, breathy female vocal claiming that 'you've made your bed now lie in it', and a warm, rich bass. Hvob has managed to achieve that rare feat of mixing live elements with housey grooves without the end result coming across like a shambolic mess. The label has also commissioned some club-friendly but respectful remixes. The Niko Schwind version focuses on the vocals and plaintive pianos, underpinning them with loose, tribal beats, while Oliver Koletzki's version also pushes these elements to the fore. On that occasion however, the groove is more rolling and tinged with a hint of niggling acid.
