Review
Following on from last year's outing by The Parallel, Hydregine is the latest producer to release on Spanish imprint Ex Aequo. Taking inspiration from dub techno but imagining its deep, textured sounds in a heavier, more direct setting, the Italian producer delivers the title track and "Purview". Both tracks are underscored by rattling, razor-sharp percussion, tough kicks and steely drums, and sound like Claro Intelecto getting it on with Oscar Mulero. To finish with, Hydregine drops "Sensing Waves". Slower and less abrasive than the previous tracks, its deep chords and sub-aquatic bass sees Hydregine retreat from the dance floor and back towards the ethereal sounds of Echocord and Modern Love.Get new release alerts
