Russia's Mihail 'Mike' Popov, AKA I Gemin, has been DJing since the 90s, producing since the 00s and releasing music as I Gemin since 2014. Here, he comes to Scruscru's Scruniversal with two new, quite contrasting tracks. In the red corner, there's 'Dance Of The Snake' itself, a pleasingly unhurried "lounge meets disco meets Balearic" affair with a distinctive guitar part reminiscent of Oliver Cheetham classic 'Get Down Saturday Night'. In the blue corner, meanwhile, 'Memories' is one-part supersized jazz upright bassline to one-part world music to one-part opera... an unlikely fusion for sure, but it kinda works!Get new release alerts
