Culoe De Song's recent contribution to the Watergate mix series was piled high with previously unreleased exclusives, three of which get an airing on this accompanying EP. First up is MR Joe's "Vector Groove", a deliciously hypnotic, slowly unfolding chunk of deep house/tech house fusion full of Osunlade style beats, Innervisions style motifs and bubbling, delay-laden electronics. The same producer's "Dharma Groove" is a similarly inclined, if slightly straighter, stretched-out epic, while Illumonate DJs' standout "Nomvula" wraps deliciously positive melodies around a quirky, off-kilter groove rich in South African influences and wavy, early morning intent.Get new release alerts
