Imugem Orihasam delivers one of this week's most intense EPs. "Ray of Light Incdient On" is quite unlike any other contemporary techno. It sounds like what would happen if someone pulled the emergency brake on the bullet train, with screeching metal on metal sounds and sparks flying as it juggernauts its way to imminent, inevitable oblivion. "Untitled 280 3" is less up-tempo, but here Orihasam has included a nausea-inducing acid line. Meanwhile , "Breakfast At New Meg's" takes Woody McBride's high tempo acid techno to its most tortured extreme. It's little wonder that the release ends with the (s)light relief of textured ambience with "Cleave".
