Review

The latest release on Charlotte de Witte's label has a deep personal meaning. The Work of Inox Traxx, it is reflective of the producer's 'inner state' and was written in response to personal challenges. But to paraphrase the evergreen house classic, to address such issues, 'music is always the answer'. The title track is a case in point. Over lead-weight kicks, Inox Traxx delivers a beautifully mournful vocal - making for a deeply personalised but dance floor-primed track. "Close" is an intense affair. Centred on a throbbing bass and a swung rhythm, it features fragile vocals. "Titles" is more esoteric - on this occasion there are no vocals. Instead, Inox Traxx drops a pulsating, tranced out track that builds and ebbs continuously.
