Review

J Peacock first rose to attention via a co-producer credit on Laurence Guy's 'Can't Find Her' back in 2022. Two years on, he's finally 'Found Her' - and is sharing the results of his search via Dirt Crew Recordings. The title track is undeniably delicious: a swelling, swinging and sub-heavy deep house workout smothered in spacey chords, drifting female vocal snippets and futuristic keyboard riffs. His love of intergalactic sounds resurfaces on the rolling and glassy-eyed 'Hold On Til Dawn', while 'No More Tears' sees him pepper a sturdy house groove with analogue bleeps, swelling strings samples and subtle disco flourishes. Fittingly, his old pal Laurence Guy remixes the latter track, re-imagining it as a dusty, loopy and spacey slab of deep house/tech-house fusion.
