The CruCast wave kicks of 2023 in style here as the legendary bass imprint waste no time getting the party started, inviting the bulbous sounds of Jaikea in for a fiery four track collection entitled 'The Mixtape'. We open up with the popping synthetic twists of 'Model 10', an immediate steamer laced with hard hitting drum processing and a bag of punchy energy, followed by the elaborate bass designs of 'One Man', another rave-ready ruckus-inducer, topped with tidy patois vocal samples. The more nostalgic sounds of 'Gully' take us right back to the heart of speed-garage with a crunchy combo of LFO jerks and alarm-like pulses, before the swampy synthetic squelches of 'Run That 2023' give us a mucky outro, rounding of a very solid start to the year for both Jaikea & the CruCast team.
