A Record Store Day release that's thankfully made the transition from limited edition vinyl to download, thanks to Domino strand Double Six, these five remixes and covers of former Velvet Underground man and visionary producer John Cale are led off by Actress' slow and gothic makeover of Cale's "Perfection", while Maria Minerva gives "Whaddya Mean By That" a soft and cosmic overhaul, with a healthy dose of bite coming from some jarring and dissonant notes. An overdriven version of "Catastrofuk" by Alva Noto and an expansive and detuned take on "Watching And Waiting For You To Begin" by Leyland Kirby make for equally fascinating listens as well.
