Legendary remixer John Morales presents his own tribute to disco diva Teena Marie, who passed tragically 10 years ago, aged just 54. The singer, guitarist, keyboardist and percussionist never quite achieved the same success in Europe that she did in her native US, where she was dubbed 'the ivory Queen of Soul'; perhaps that'll change now she's had a dose of M&M magic! It has to be said that 'Behind The Groove' and 'I Need Your Lovin', her only two UK hits, ARE the strongest tracks, and one or two cuts veer into schmaltzy pop territory. But if soulful late 70s/early 80s disco is your bag, there's still some underplayed gold waiting to be discovered here.Get new release alerts
