It's been a while since Johnny Paguro burst onto the nu-disco scene via a string of inspired releases on Pizzico. These days, his output is far more sporadic, but the Italian's high quality threshold has still not dipped. He begins his first Mister Mistery outing - and first EP of 2018 - with the Art of Noise-influenced, electro-meets-deep synth-funk workout "128 Coupe", a wholehearted 1980s tribute just ready to be revved up on dancefloors that like their grooves synthesizer-heavy. Elsewhere, "Night Trip (Bloodbuster)" wraps glacial synthesizer melodies around a foreboding groove in tribute to 1980s movie soundtracks, while "Gottarado '82" sounds like a more loved-up take on Jonny Jewel's Symmetry productions. More dancefloor fire is provided by Roctiv's throbbing, Italo-disco-influenced revision of "128 Coupe".
