It was in March last year that ascendant British youngster Josh Hvaal released his debut EP on Hot Creations, soon gaining support from top names in the industry such as Joseph Capriati and Andrea Oliva. He followed up with promising efforts on Circus Recordings, Distortion and Hot Creations' offshoot Hottrax. It's more of the same on the Derby-based producer's latest banger called "The Sound", with it's ravey and strobe-lit style of bounce that's aimed squarely at the main room dancefloor at peak time. This is followed up by "Stan Smith" featuring classic house music tropes including jacked vocal samples, Todd Terry style horn stabs and swing-fuelled rhythms.
