After a series of Eps, veteran Spanish DJ / producer Joton finally takes the bold step of releasing his debut album. Fans of his records on New Rhythmic won't be disappointed and Nines offers a number of variants on his dance floor techno sound. From the deep, filtered pulses of "Gray Matter" to the skipping rhythm and percussive ticks of "Archetype" into "Red In The Face", which acts as a halfway house to Joton's harder sound, this is a well-weighted and brilliantly executed release. Soon after dropping "Face", he puts his focus fully on harder, more abrasive styles, with the discordant riffs and linear rhythm of "Hidden Pulse" and the horror movie samples and snapping percussion of "Clean Skin" impressing most.Get new release alerts
