Just Joe and Max Britton are relative newcomers, having made their debut last year on Solo Recordings. Despite their lack of experience, there's much to enjoy in this foray into the world of tactile late night deep house. The uptempo "Chemical Dub", replete with whispered "ecstasy" vocal, makes its intentions clear from the start. Sparse but rolling, it flits between spooky chords, garage-influenced stabs and wobbling electronics. "Right Now" is notably deeper. With its descending piano motif, delay-laden vocal samples and bold bassline, it sounds like a flashback to more innocent times. There's certainly more than a nod and a wink to Britain's rave heritage.
