House fans who remember the original dance music explosion will be thrilled to learn that K-Klass have a release on Mjuzieek Remixed. The UK house music veterans bring it back to their roots with some help from remixer Antoine Cortez, who provides a filter-heavy disco house version of "Let the Freak", the act's collaboration with Reza. Younger audiences may not get the significance of the sped up vocals and ravey riffs to K Klass's background - they cut their teeth playing at mega-raves in the early 90s - but a similar set of influences also prevail on the Jerome Robins remix of Mike Newsman & Antoine Cortez's "Got Me Now", with Minnie Mouse on helium vocals fused with rolling, tribal drums. The last track on the release, the Nervous Kid remix of "Shame" also mines the early 90s for its screaming diva vocal and euphoric piano lines.Get new release alerts
