German duo Kaiserdisco finally follow up their 2011 debut on 100% Pure with this lean, mean techno release for the label. The title track features a lithe, snaking rhythm, surging chords and a pitch-bent vocal overlaid with hip-hop scratches before it is sent down a wind tunnel. By contrast, "Black Mamba" is far more tracky and less menacing; based on a rolling rhythm, this framework provides the backdrop for percussion that niggles, itches and scratches like a particularly acute case of chickenpox, as moody chords chug away in the background. It's taken five years, but Kaiserdisco's return to the Dutch label has been worth the wait.
