Parisian Kiddy Smile was said to be discovered by Gossip frontwoman Beth Ditto and he seeks to spread retro love in his beats. Said to be 'deeply Influenced by the '80s and '90s house music and the fabulous legacy of the ballroom scene', he has even performed live alongside Hercules & Love Affair and LCD Soundsystem. "Let A Bitch Know" is redolent of the heyday of Chicago acid house with its raw 808 rhythms, squelchy 303 bassline and pitch shifted vocals. There's a remix by Catz 'N Dogz too, but for our money it's all about Windy City homeboy Gene Farris, whose rendition stays true to the original but somehow gives the track a nice overall sheen and really glues all the elements together.Get new release alerts
