Although he's appeared on De La Groove on many occasions, this album - his debut full-length, fact fans - is actually Giulio Marelli AKA Knuckle G's first release for almost three years. It presents his take on deep house, which draws inspiration from the greats - including plenty of nods towards the sounds of New York, New Jersey and Chicago in the 1990s - as well as nods towards French touch, disco-house and premium Italo-house. Our picks of a very strong bunch include the disco-laced warmth of 'The Sun Is Up When I Go To Sleep' (we've all been there), the deep and jazzy loveliness of 'Whisky, No Ice', the luscious 'Music Is Life' (which features positive, soulful vocals courtesy of Nicky Prince) and the melodious and squelchy 'Acid Lullaby'.
