Under the now familiar Lake People alias, Martin Enke has delivered some fine material over the last five years. Enke's success has been built on combining club-ready elements borrowed from techno and tech-house, with the melodious intent of IDM, and the groovy feel of deep house. He's at it again here, delivering a trio of ear-pleasing cuts. There's more than a little electro shuffle to the blissful, bleep-heavy opener "The 1st Day", whose power is generated by a relentless, pulsating bassline. "Ashland" expertly combines the intergalactic futurism of Detroit techno with the horizontal intent of ambient house, while epic closer "You Take Another Place With You" is a melancholic, heavily electronic treat influenced by vintage progressive house, and featuring an extended ambient outro.
