Not much is known about the artist behind Renee's Razor Blades, but it is released via Sticky Ground, a fledgling London label. In its original format, the title track is a frenetic, filtered techno track that rides searing electronic riffs and even features some lost-it vocal samples. "Placebo Sleep" is slightly less pacy; revolving around steely, carved out drums and a belching bass, it comes across as a tougher, contemporary take on early 00s UK tech-house. The label has commissioned two fine remixes, with Another Alias delivering a wonky, rave-heavy take on the title track and Kernel Panic turning in a rumbling, distorted take on "Sleep".
