Review

Steve Lorenz's techno and electronica-focused imprint Tarvisium Electronique has so far only reached out to Orlando Voorn to broaden the horizons of the label. Now with Danny Wolfers on board the label is starting to take shape, and both the original and the remixes point to very bright things ahead. "Hollywood Murder Mystery" is a fine slice of cosmic, electro-infused acid as you would expect, living up to the title in mesmerising yet beguiling harmonic configurations through which the drums and bass punch. Bringing an equally otherworldly brew of electro and acid to the table, Steve Lorenz's Moonhacker version of events is infallibly strange and utterly nasty at the same time, while under his own name his remix is a streamlined affair that follows an insistent melodic line, only to be craftily switched up after a momentary breakdown.
