Review
Lars Fenin's fifth album is a work of contrasts. On one hand there are the atmospheric dub textures of "Out of Season" and the shimmering ambience of the title track, while at the other end of the spectrum there's "Momentum". An abrasive, glitch workout, it paves the way for an even more extreme workout on "Turner". There, a rolling, drum-heavy rhythm and tonal bleeps and squiggles see Fenin occupy the middle ground between LFO and Maetrik. He repeats the approach on "Protolith" and "Leaving the Bay", where dubbed out, doubled-up grooves round out the release. Despite this hard-edged approach, Fenin hasn't lost his musical touch and impresses with the flickering, deep techno of "Lighthouse".Get new release alerts
