Review

PBR Streetgang's admirable, if secretive, Lost Property series has become one of the most classy and reliable re-edit series since it launched - initially as a vinyl-only imprint - way back in 2007. The Leeds lads relaunched it late last year having left it dormant for a while and here stride into 2025 with a pair of revisions of vintage, early '80s electrofunk jams. First up, PBR member Bonar Bradberry provides a tactfully done, tape delay-enhanced 'Finale' version of D-Train's joyous 'Music', cannily chopping together (and dubbing out) bits of the duo's original vocal and dub versions. Arguably even better is the pair's 'Heavy' re-dub of 'Tonight', which strips back the groove, showcases delay-laden flashes of synthesiser and generally makes the track more applicable to 21st century dancefloors.
