Released way back in 2007 and featuring a mix of lightly tooled-up re-edits and sample-rich, disco-heavy house jams, 'Modern Stalking' was one of Lovebirds' breakthrough EPs. This belated sequel certainly lives up to its lauded predecessor, even if it did take the German producer a fair old while to get round to recording it. Our pick of a very strong bunch is opener 'The Sun', where a deep, dubby house groove, spacey electronics and drifting vocal samples are overlaid with gorgeous orchestra samples and insane amounts of FX. 'Run' is a sprightly fusion of vintage boogie sounds and smooth house grooves, while 'Motion' sits somewhere between percussive deep disco and hazy house. Closing cut 'Reachin', meanwhile, is a chunky, slow-motion disco treat for warm-ups and spangled after-parties.Get new release alerts
