Marcus McGowan doesn't come from Detroit, but it sounds like his music is inspired by the Motor City. "Transdimensional Flight" is a glorious, gliding deep techno groove, its sleek, steely rhythm calling to mind Juan Atkins or Carl Craig at their most esoteric. There's a similarly atmospheric feeling at play on "Cascading Through Space", but here, McGowan evokes Motor City producers like Patrice Scott as a wiry rhythm and rolling drums underpin atmospheric melodies. "Mission Deep Space Exploration (D.S.E)" follows in a similar vein, its rhythm flowing and undulating in majestic fashion, accompanied by beautiful keys and warm filters.Get new release alerts
