Marion Poncet has had many releases under a number of different aliases, but this is the artist's first release under her real name. The EP comes via La Chinerie, a young and fledgling French label dealing in house, techno and...rap. One could say that Poncet's music on Chineurs De House is a mixture of all three, thanks to its clear broken beat direction. "Rule Of Three", for example, is a deep and funky jazz-dance number a la Dego, whereas "Dancing With Lions" verges more closely to anything techno-minded, but its tribal twist is what makes it interesting. "Hidden" ties things off in classic house mode, and those delicate keys amid the dusty beats remind us of Andres in dance floor mode. Recommended and tipped!
