Will Saul's Aus Music imprint continues to churn out the hits. Here, the Berlin-based veteran has turned to Dixon Avenue Basement Jams and Houndstooth regular Marquis Hawkes, and fast-rising producer Timothy Blake. Interestingly, the two producers have chosen to eschew the raw, rough-and-ready approach that marks out Hawkes work, in particular, instead delivering two bubbly, soul-flecked tracks that variously doff a cap to classic Frankie Knuckles, Tony Humphries and David Morales productions. Both "Flip A Coin" and "Love Precipitation" have an old school U.S house/garage feel, with organs, piano solos, soulful vocal samples and swinging drums aplenty. It's a positive sound that makes us pine for humid summer nights at sun-kissed foreign festivals.
