With a scattered discography touching on labels as diverse as Boxer Recordings and Skylax, Polish producer Maximilian Skiba has taken a careful approach to emerging with his sun-kissed, boogie-infused jams, but this release for Internasjonal seems like the perfect fit for his slickly produced, feel good wares. "Shanghouse" bursts with effervescence, scattering the winter climate with its righteous piano hooks and juicy b-lines, matching vintage soul with contemporary studio flair in the process. Cosmic disco heavyweight Prins Thomas then takes it upon himself to project Skiba's "Kosakot" into a terse and clamouring cut-up of sharp snares and Moog licks that comes on sweet and nasty in the same breath. Victor Rosado meanwhile delivers a more all-round friendly house take on "Shanghouse" to sit comfortably in the warm-up zone.
