Dubai-based Londoner Megane Quashie has been doing her thing as Megatronic as some time, though this expansive outing on Razor 'N' Tape is undoubtedly her highest profile release to date. There's much to enjoy from start to finish, with the producer-vocalist brilliantly blending elements of deep house, Afro-house, soul, smooth nu-disco and jazz-funk on such unearthly delights as 'Organic' (where her spoken word vocals catch the ear), Stavros hook-up 'The Word' and the jazzy deep house masterclass that is 'Been Thinkin'. Jimpster remixes the latter, opting for an even deeper and more electronic sound, before Kiko Navarro smothers 'The World' in undulating acid lines, bouncy beats and warming electric piano chords. To round off a strong package, Kurco delivers a jaunty, elastic and pleasingly deep take on 'Organic'.
